Suraj Pai (b. 1994) lives and works in Bangalore, India.
Drawn to the interplay between discarded materials and sculptural form, he transforms scraps into evocative compositions. His work explores sustainability and artistic expression, questioning the lifecycle of materials and their place in the environment.
With a hands-on approach and deep respect for repurposed matter, Suraj uncovers possibilities in the overlooked and ordinary. Each piece is a study in contrast—rigid yet fluid, industrial yet organic—inviting reflection on consumption, waste, and renewal.
Rooted in curiosity, Suraj’s fascination with making began early, evolving through self-driven explorations. His practice responds instinctively to the form and texture of collected materials, shaped by vivid childhood experiences.
He earned a Master of Design from IIT Guwahati in 2018 and worked with multiple companies before establishing his own practice.
